Yes, been buying lots of house/techno recently. Below is a thread to my latest mix on a minimal vibe.

2007 was sick for minimal techno. Loads of good tunes and it's getting a lot more attention.

This was maybe the tune of the year for me - Plastikman - Spastik (Dubfire rmx)

good work man.

great thing about not having a fucking clue about what artists to look out for is that you judge each track on whether its good or not rather than having buy on sight artists and shit. just gotta trawl though the audio on websites

Hmm IMDB has just told me it's D-Nox & Breakers - Left behind. Not sure what this is classed as come to think of it lol, but it's sick.

One of the best CD's ive heard for a long time.

Anybody got any sets of their own to post up? just getting back into my minimal house need to see what else is going on in the scene. As Rage said it's nice to just browse through tracks without any pre-conceptions, it would be even better to hear the big tunes floating around.

I'm trying to make inroads into it, its kind of daunting because its such a fucking massive genre. Also I find it hard to get into it if I'm not hearing it at a club/at the dance arena in Exit, especially the minimal stuff. Looking forward to hearing a lot at Bloc this march.
I'm into Carl Craig stuff especially, its got the soulful/melodic dimension that really hooks me in. Also some older Detroit Techno- not sure how old it is but bought 'Timeline' by Underground Resistance recently and I love that: it's basically 4/4 soul music... kind of hip-hoppish too.
Like a few Villalobos things I've heard... Andy Stott is wicked, has done a few dubstep hybrid things but his techno is also really good. Basic Channel dub techno (and also stuff on Deep Chord) is wicked too, very immersive and ambient and submerged.
I'm all ears in terms of recommendations, I still haven't had that eureka moment with techno yet though.

Yeah man that's the kind of minimal that instantly appeals to me really, it's got just enough melody/warmth to it... the textures techno producers get are fucking lush (to use a word I hate lol), especially in minimal stuf when they have space to float in

i've only ever listened to it here and there, the really minimal sparse stuff is pretty good but i can't listen to it for too long without gettin bored, certainly don't think i could take a whole night of it in a club but there is the occasional tune which does stand out to me, i know he's mainly a dnb producer but Klute released a tune late last year on one of the Eperors New Clothes limited EP's which was quality

yeah the production is sick as fuck. its obviously not gonna take away from my love of dnb but it does make a refreshing change, the change of tempo allows for a completely different type of atmosphere in the tracks.

its weird ive tried collecting other forms of music before but always got bored within five minutes, but i feel like im just scratching the surface here and want to learn more about it! think ive started listening at a good time.

Minimal is huge at the moment, isn't it? It's funny because you'd imagine it was a very geeky and insular scene but its actually seen as cool and sexy party music  on a global scale. You can see why though, its much less macho and intense than older minimal stuff which is proper stomping ...

I think it'd be good if DNB producers took influences from as wide a range of music as possible to keep things fresh- it'd be great if DNB producers could get as much space in their sound as techno producers can. Then all these new production techniques could be used more effectively than they are at the moment at 170bpm

I think it's gettin better again mate. It did go stupid for a while and last year I hardly listened to drums because it was shite IMO. There's alot of stuff out now drawing from a variety of influences.

electrosoul recently got me back into my drums. PM if you want the set.
