I rarely wear anything but a suit nowadays.

Im too old for trainers and shit. Proper DAD bastard.

How old is too old?

I can't wear a suit because (a) I can't afford a really good one, and (b) when I wear one I look like a uni student on his way to his first job interview. And I'm 41. For me, wearing a suit is giving up on clothes. It's wearing something so you don't have to try, because basically you're always going to look better the more money you throw at it, and that's the only metric for taste (unless you're some kind of clown who buys a yellow one) or style. I guess convenience is part of the appeal.

I have to wear one, every day for work. Like alot of other people i imagine, Its not really giving up if your work demands you do it lol.

Obviously i dress down at the weekends but sometimes i still need to see clients etc so will always look fairly smart.

Ok, I was thinking it was suit by choice, even non-work situations. I’ve known a few men who really do live in them full time.

You can pick up a decent whistle for 250, that doesn’t have that ‘first job interview’ look lol

Still, why would you wear one in a situation where you don't have to? It smacks of somebody who thinks they are far more important than they are.

I'm 100% behind Duderonomy's take on suits. I immediately feel inferior to people wearing more expensive suits. So fuck that game altogether. It's an immature take on life but I doubt I'm likely to grow up any time before I draw my pension.

@ Knuckles I never spend less than a 2/3 hundred quid on a suit, but I'm a fairly blocky 5' 8 on a good day- even when I spend a reasonable amount of cash I end up looking like Bob Hoskins in Mona Lisa. Suits aren't good for shortarses. And they are even less good for shortarses who know they look shit in them.

Think I spent about 400 on my suit, and I’ve worn it once, to my mates wedding. They’re now separated, so yeah I’m really happy with my investment.

Took me ages to find one I like, the fit is more important than shelling boatloads of cash.

Separate trousers and separate blazer is a far better look than a 2 piece suit

It's less formal than the coffee breath commuter look.

Most people dont wear a suit right either and end up looking like a baggy mess. Fitted trousers and a nice blazer looks like you've actually put some thought into it

If you shop around, you can actually get a decent suit from Next or Matalan. Before I get dragged to the ground and beaten like a sex offender, I dont mean all of their gear as 90% is shit but every now and then you can get a decent one there for less than £100

You know what they’re making some interesting bits but it’s so rinsed now.

Quite like the luminescent jackets but they’re more of a collectors thing.

What Berghaus are you looking at mate?

Trying to calm down but really want this (think I posted it last year though)

Yeah I can’t justify 2 mortgage payments on a jacket lol but if it drips in the sales...

Like the old school Berghaus look, sure they reproduced that model or similar a couple of years ago? Maybe a collab?

I bought this jacket last year (different colour). It’s pretty great.

You can normally get it cheaper from another website. Got mine for £350 from thesportinglodge.com

Fjallraven stuff is too sexy
