I’ve seen that doing the rounds, need to give it a listen.

With all the hype going round about this album I preordered it without listening. It was quite cheap so I'm confident of getting my money's worth. Thought I'd would be quite nice to have first listen on my home set up.

Good call. I might do the same. I've heard one track from it, which was excellent.

Big up Headz for keeping their new releases on the cheaper side as well. Always a few quid cheaper than everything else.

From the sampler 12"

Something Borrowed, Something Blue

Your Ghost

Both fucking brilliant. I've got the third tune too called "One Touch" which is some proper mellow Bladerunner type vibes with choppy drumfunk esque beat. All three tracks glorious.

Not got hold of the album itself. Dying to hear it. Can't wait to see them at Rupture this weekend. Pretty darn well hyped to even be playing the same room as them.

RAM are very good at that too, not that you’d want to buy much from them these days.

I dont quite get the frenzy over that tune. I mean, it's very good and I like it loads, but people go on like it's the biggest, best and most important hardcore tune of them all.

WHAT

it’s amazing man, the intro, the neatly layered beats, that first breakdown which is insane and the way it rolls to the heavenly breakdown towards the end, it’s a monster of a tune! In my top 50 for sure, the flip is wicked too.

LOL exactly. It's fucking good but it's not the complete and utter bestest like everyone makes out. Not for me anyway.

Aah man I couldn’t have a bestest Hardcore tune, they change with the winds but it’s definitly up there for me. It’s my era though, I know you prefer the slightly later stuff so I get it.

Here’s another track I see everyone going nuts over lately, similar to Ephemerol, I would say they’re both quite proto Jungle tunes with the vibe going on. This was the inspiration for Pennywise, will prob get a repress too as I’m seeing it everywhere.

Just got hold of the Blocks and Escher LP. Only skimmed it but no surprises, it sounds fucking incredible.
They are the masters right now. The album is a the perfect balance of old headz bluenote vibes and new production and idea.

Yup, house of vans. Likewise. Looks like a decent venue though. Not sure if it will get the same kinda foot traffic though

Yeah Brick Lane was a good venue, other than the humidity! Discovered a decent shop called Flashback just down the road from there.

I see Manix has another EP ready to drop there, and Stretch has something too.

From a recent jaunt to Soho:
Metal Heads - Terminator [Synthetic]
Krust - Future Talk/Quiz Show [Full Cycle]
Roni Size & Krust - A Touch Of Daylight [Full Cycle]
D.N.A - D.N.A/Nasty [Full Cycle]
Archive:One [Soul:R]

Visited a local memorabilia shop here in Reading on the off-chance:
Red One - The Futurist/Alive n' Kicking [Liftin Spirit]
Dom & Rob & Goldie - The Shadow (Grooverider & Desired State Remixes) [Moving Shadow]
M.T.S - Baad Boy Sound/Insperation [Juice]

I'd love to give Clashmouth a go although it seems to be turning into what RSD used to be with all its "better get there quick" , "only a few copies" , "special yellow copy with sequins" h'exclusives I keep seeing.. which will no doubt end up on Discogs two hours later for treble the price.

SIGS, EVERYTHING SIGS.

Re: BAGGINGS 2018/04/18 13:01:13 (permalink)
lol yes that is kind of what it’s become. At the first one last year the Reinforced stall had some original press T&Js, it was armshouse when it opened! We had got there about 15 mins before opening and were way back in the queue, missed out on those but bagged a sweet copy of Swan-E Collusion which was a nice consolation. It was much more civilised last time, but I guess there wasn’t the incentive of vintage Shells. They had Underground Software III but wanted 50 for it, in retrospect it wasn’t a bad price looking at discogs.

It’s great for picking up mint back cat too. Klute was doing Commercial Suicide releases for next to nothing, £1/2 per tune. Crazy considering how good a lot of them are! I guess he didn’t want to take them home, no one else was being quite that generous.

Nice one on bagging Terminator, what a record!

Oh I'm sure I'd have a great time, my wallet not so much. It's just that whole "super mega exclusive" type thing that gets a bit jarring after a while, I love an exclusive as much as the next person but creating a deliberate bun fight for them.. hmm.

Yeah I couldn't pass up that copy of Terminator, it was only a tenner because it was a bit roughed up but it's cleaned up quite nicely and the sleeve was in really great shape.
