Sorry, I meant you’d only buy an f pace if you couldn’t afford an RRS.

Anyone who thinks it’s betyer than a Range gets a big fat LOOOOOOLLLL

Come now, make it a full-fat one at least. At least that can actually do the all the things it promises.

Well, until it breaks down. Which it will.

That's quite an eloquent but damning critique you have made against car that has won so many awards.

But i'll break it down for you....

MrSlickle

If you put a buggy or even two in the back of that, you have little space for anything else without obscuring the view. Also, there’s less space for a dog, if you have one - and if you do, it’s much harder to coax it into the back. Not a problem if you’ve a lapdog, a Labrador might be more of a problem.

We only have one buggy and there's loads of space left over.

Plus we have no dogs so there's no problem

MrSlickle

for some reason most of these cars have a tapering window line at the rear to make them look like a Coupe, or to minimise the the impression of size. Sadly, this means poor rear visibility.

The only thing sad is that you are either a bad driver or must have the eyesight of Mr Magoo to consider the visibility poor.  Never heard anyone mention that before.

MrSlickle
then let’s look at centre of gravity. It’s far too tedious and beardy to go into vehicle dynamics on here, but with all the weight high up you’re more at risk of a roll over.

More at risk of a roll over than what ?  A 911 ?  Well that is always going to be the case but the car is hardly going to lol over on the way to the shops / school / dropping me off at the station is it.   That's a pretty irrelevant point m8

MrSlickle

Ok, let’s start with the boot space. Because it’s Builth for height rather than length

So it's important for you to have a good length in your boot then?    It's a free country and each one to their own is all i can say m8

tbh pulling the f-pace up on it's weight thing and potential for roll-over is a bit of a stretch lol

they're aluminium body aren't they? they weigh fuck all and I've never once felt like it's going to roll-over even when throwing it around country lanes in dynamic mode.

for a car of it's 'size' it drives more like my old 1 Series M than something like a Range Rover.

I just don't rate the build quality or the interior features for a car of it's 'prestige' or price.

the leather seats are huge and comfortable though - more like sitting on a sofa. easily done 8 hours through France in a single sitting and got out the other end feeling fresh still.

I get that everyone loves their car (or should, unless it's a company car, I guess), but why the overly impassioned defence of a car, meaningless award winning or not, which is pretty bog standard to all intents?

Is it just pure trolling at this point?

Some other guy at my company left suddenly by 'mutual consent' which left his new F-Pace, R-Sport 180PS Supercharged 2.0D AWD going spare. My director asked me if I wanted it instead of the Tiguan and I was like 'yep'. So that happened. It's hench af and ridiculously smooth to drive. Dynamic mode is meant to be fun so probably gonna take it out later when the roads are quiet and give it a go.

If you care about space get an MPV.

You're lying to yourself .

I only have one child and i haven't quite given up on life just yet

Have to be honest i get annoyed at that line. Getting a car that is practical isn't giving up on life. It pisses me off getting a maxi cosi/toddler in and out of a car door in a low car with normal doors. It's a PITA. Especially in a tight parking space.

Sorry I've given this some thought and I stand by my original statement.

I can't count how many bods ive seen pulling kids out of MPVs and they all seem to have dead expressions on their faces - and 9/10 times they have a Samaritans sticker on the rear windscreen.

Do you all get your motors on a PCP ting? Mine is just about ending on my Golf so got the ball ache of sorting another car, but I'm dim with this stuff and never sure if I'm getting swindled or not but it seems like the only way of affording anything that's not a shitter.

Looking at Tiguans, Pugeot 3008 or Kia Sportage at the moment but open to suggestions. Yes I'm middle aged, no I don't need a willy extension that will bankrupt me. Ty.

My work car is.

I don’t see too much of a problem with them, basically makes getting a car like getting a mobile phone. Pay attention to the interest and don’t solely base your purchase on the monthly repayment.

No one makes a shit car these days.

Could I fit all my watermelons in the boot while my pig rides up front?

Reliability is the main reason I'm thinking of sticking with VW, although the reality is probably an older/bottom spec Tiguan Vs something mildly shitter but with a few more pointless add ons.
