ORIGINAL: Duderonomy I think that as much as we're made aware of the 'sexification' of girls (or whatever the term is), there's been something similar going on with boys. This pussification involving sh*t clothes and make up is no different to working out. Boys are being told that they should be desperate to be attractive to the opposite sex, so they're either hitting the big weights or trying to dress the part, or both. I know that the first response of many guys will be that working out isn't gay, it's so that they can smack people like me in the mouth for calling them that. But how many people who work-out do it from necessity? How many people need to be super-fit to get by in the world? How fit do they need to be? There's got to be a point on a graph or table when you look at levels of fitness or musculature and say that investing that much time and money is actually counter-productive beyond a certain point. So why do it? Because men are now as insecure as women. Looking like Arnie isn't natural, and it actually looks as insecure as fake titties, face-lifts, fake-tan, and all the other things that men laugh at women for, and in some ways just as stupid as tight jeans, girly-tops, man-bags and pumps. The least attractive thing to either sex is desperation. How many people look like Arnie though? You're right it isn't natural, it's steroid-assisted for a start! How many people are that obsessed? Not many. You don't have to spend your life in the gym to look half-decent with your top off. I agree with your general point, but I don't necessarily think lifting weights is for the reasons you say it is. Some people lift weights to get strong and compete, some want to impress the laydeez, some just do it for general health and fitness. I do it mainly for my own enjoyment not to impress anyone, plus being able to lift heavy things up over your head is the opposite of the sissification of men imo.
