For games, I'd recommmend Brothers In Arms, Real Racing, Need For Speed, Fieldrunners, Flight Control, Fast & Furious, Terminator: Salvation & X2 Football.

Ok best apps that i have are (in no order other then how i see them on the phone):

Wunder radio - Internet radio client. Got it to listen to BBC stations on the move but picks up any internet station, including Rude. Also lets you listen to police radio in the states, which is funny for 30secs but pretty pointless.

Tube Delux - Best London Underground app if you use the tube.

Beatmaker - fun sequencer, like a cut down Reason.

Air Mouse - Turns your iphone into either a laptop style touchpad or an accelerometer type mouse. Useful if you have a media pc plugged into your tv

Remote - remote control your itunes library from the phone

Intellireemote - use the iphone as a remote for windows media center.

Wiki mobile - Wikipedia client. Not really needed, but nice to have wikipedia formatted nicely on the screen and has good search.

Wikime - on a similar tip, uses the GPS to give you relevent wiki entries for places near you.

Best games i've played are Rolando, Virtualpool, Trism and Flight Control

The only ones I use are Stanza (Ebook reader), TwitterFon & Big Oven (recipes)

Most of them are pretty pointless really

Also, FStream is good. It's a radio app, but it lets you type in links to streaming radio, so you can listen to all the BBC radio stations, unlike most of the other apps.

How do you get 'instalous'?

Go through the jailbreaking process and then add "cydia.hackulo.us" to your sources in Cydia. Then download Installous and the Mobile Installation patch.

Works fine over 3G, but i only really use it at my desk at work or at home on my wifi, so can't testify to the reliability when you are travelling. Guess it depends on the strength of the 3G network in the area you are in.

I'm hoping that with 3.0 there will be better BBC radio apps, they've supposed to have done loads of work on streaming media.

Nope, works fine on 3G I've found.

LastFM is a really good one for music also
Flixster is really good for all your Cinema requirements. Showtimes, trailers etc
I've found the eBay App quite handy.

..oh and Allowance is a really good App for checking your usage. Shows you how many texts you've used/have got left, same for minutes, if you've spent over your tarrif etc etc.

National Rail one is useful for train departures

Lots of musical things like tuners, metronomes.

You don't 'jailbreak' it, you just crack it.  You don't need to make up a special 'cool' word just because you're applying it to an apple product.
